I finally got a Mosin

Recommended Posts

FYI, if you're planning on refinishing it batman. After I sanded mine down, I put wet washcloth on it and went over it with an iron until the cloth drys up... it cleaned the heck out of the wood. After each pass the rag would have less and less funk on it.

It will also raise the grain and remove dents etc. Be mindful however, if you have stamped markings on the stock...the iron will suck those imprints right out. So if you cherish them, avoid them. Works great though.

Like an idiot, I didn't really take any good before photos. But I'll probably make my own topic about the refinish when I actually get the time to FINISH the project. Honey-do list :/

Thanks! I sure am enjoying this gun a lot considering I haven't even shot it yet. I have to admit, I'm already having thoughts about an M44 :)

I have an M44, fun, but after 10 shots, you'll want to put it down.

You can always put a nancy-pad on it, if you have a tender shoulder, like Stan. LOL

These are my favorite rifles to shoot. They are real cheap, historical, beautiful, reliable, and cost less to shoot than a 9mm. What's not to love?

Real men don't use Nancy pads.
