Cheap cleaning patches

I guess I have been doing it wrong my whole life, I leave the wire brush on the end of my cleaning rod and flap a cloth patch over the end of it and push that through (99% of the time it comes back out with it too).

That's a good idea for shotguns.  Whenever I need patches for handguns and rifles, I don't head to the LGS for expensive ones.  I go to Hobby Lobby or another fabric store and buy a square yard of cotton cloth for around $3.  I cut them myself to fit.  That gives me enough for six months or more.

If you go to Goodwill or someplace like that you can buy old T shirts really cheap and help someone else out.

I use old T shirts and cut them up with a paper cutter. The big ones with the big cutting arm that comes down. Can cut many layers of cloth at one time.

back in the late 80s a buddys girlfriend worked at a t shirt factory and she gave me a huge bag of cloth strips and pieces.Nearly 25 yrs later I have used about half of them.

old t-shirts and other old shirts has worked for me for many mango seasons.

Just buy a size larger, they never shrink ;)
