Does R&K "post" their shows?

If by having uniformed police officers set up at a table complete with metal detectors at the front door counts as "posted," then, yes.

They'll let you carry provided your gun is unloaded and has a zip-tie through the barrel or around the hammer. They'll provide the zip-tie and service of rendering it "safe" at no charge. :D

Last 2 times I went to a gun show in Knoxville it was a complete waste of time...I actually thought CCA had a better selection and definitely better prices, but maybe i dont look hard enough :D Course it doesnt help that half the show is knives which I loathe(why carry a $300 knife when you can spend that on a gun) and fake war memorabilia sold by people that are probably not actual vets.

never seen metal detectors at the gun show at the Expo Center

They have had a small Garrett "wand" metal detector at the past couple of shows. I've never seen them use it, but I've seen it sitting on the table.

Very true. Gunshow Saturdays are very busy here. They should save the cover charge and just buy more ammo for the guns they eventually get here.

Hey! I like my Sebenza! Best boxcutter made!

I probably won't go myself. A lot of the stuff I saw last time was overpriced. I don't want to shoot re-loads in my XD, I have plenty of ammo for my .38 and it will become a "safe queen" once I get a Seecamp.

Garrett "wand" metal detector

you are soooo correct. I was thinking one of them doorframe type deals. I have also seen the wand at gun shows, but like you I do not recall them using it. I offer up my pistol for them to do what they will with it. The cop asked me how I preferred it tie wrapped. Really not an ordeal at all.

I did break the rule about ammo, had rounds in my pocket and I think that is a no-no

Talk about "gun control." If they used something like that it would be nightmare since it would take as long as the show ran to get everyone through the danged thing.

I dont think rounds in your pocket would be a big deal since you can buy loose ammo there....

I am pretty sure there was signage relating to not bringing loaded magazines into the show, I assumed it included loose ammo for my revolver. I was too lazy to walk back to the truck, heh

I really dont think I would trust anyone I didnt know to sell me reloads

I agree, I am not buying Joe Schmoe's reloads. I have bought reloads from Atlanta Ammo or whoever it was\, but not from some dude selling his stuff.

I bought lead bullets to roll my own at the show in April. They were for .357 or .38.

Got ripped off, slighted by 11 bullets. Can't remember the seller but they had lots of reloading stuff. Sold bullets by weight. The originally tried to over charge me and I called them out on that, guess they got over on me anyway.

Off topic, still have not bought a car yet. not sure what to do. Her buyer has backed off

Georgia Arms reloads in .38 special the only reloads i ever buy at a show. at least at the expo center you can walk around people that are looking at the knives in stead of waiting behind them.
