Well looks like a sausage party but they are still having too much fun IMO.

http://www.wsmv.com/story/22092401/tdoc-disciplines-70-inmates-at-14-prisons-after-channel-4-i-team-report

The Channel 4 I-Team found more than 100 inmates operating Facebook pages from behind bars - posting photos and videos of convicted criminals claiming to be using drugs, flashing large amounts of cash, partying, hoarding snacks and, in one case, setting a shirt on fire inside a prison cell.

The discovery of the Facebook pages raises real questions for correction officials, because inmates don't have Internet access and cell phones are prohibited.

The Channel 4 I-Team found many of the inmates who are enjoying Facebook, communicating with family and friends and sharing pictures are convicted murderers and rapists.

In one case Ivan Moreno - who strangled and murdered Bellevue grandmother Mary Sadler - was found on Facebook, showing pictures of himself playing a guitar inside a cell.

"My eyes started watering. I started shaking. I couldn't believe I could see him again," said Sadler's granddaughter, Michelle Elliot.

The Channel 4 I-Team also found convicted murderer Brandon White, who killed Ryan Wright, posting pictures of his phone and holding $200 cash.

"That's not punishment. That's not any kind of punishment. It's just like being out on the outside. It's still freedom for them," said Ryan's mother, Linda Wright. "We can never communicate again. And he (Brandon White) has access to be able to communicate with the outside world."

White is among the inmates the Channel 4 I-Team found also openly posting their phone numbers for people to call them.

The Channel 4 I-Team called White's number, and a man answered immediately. When chief investigative reporter Jeremy Finley asked if it was Brandon on the line, the man hung up.

We repeatedly tried to call back, but it went to voicemail each time and all the other numbers were either disconnected or went to voicemail.

"A menace to society has use of social media, and that's just wrong," Linda Wright said.

The victims' families said when the criminals were sentenced to prison, they never imagined them posting photos of themselves to Facebook watching TV or burying themselves in junk food.

We showed all the pictures and videos to TDOC Assistant Commissioner Tony Parker, who is in charge of security in state prisons.

"Is this too extravagant for a guy to have who is behind bars?" Finley asked.

"Obviously, this inmate is trying to be flagrant and show off all this property. Obviously, it's an issue," Parker said.

Finley asked how all this can be happening while correctional officers are watching.

"It's not an issue of not enough correctional officers. It's an issue of a nationwide problem with cell phones and the struggle to stay on top of it," Parker said.

The Channel 4 I-Team found that in some cases, even the families and friends of the inmates were surprised to see the freedom the convicted criminals had through Facebook.

In one posting, someone wrote, "How are you locked up and on Facebook?"

"Every correctional facility struggles with contraband. It's not something I'm proud of, but it's the reality," Parker said.

"I think my first question would be, how is this happening?" Linda Wright asked.

It's obvious that someone is bringing the phones into the prisons, but the state's own records show that in a year's time, only one person - Jeanette Elliott - has been convicted of bringing a cell phone into a Tennessee prison.

As soon as the Channel 4 I-Team brought our findings to the state, they immediately launched investigations in 14 prisons across the state, finding 53 cell phones as well as drugs and a deadly weapon.

Seventy inmates now face disciplinary actions for having Facebook pages while imprisoned in Tennessee, but their Facebook pages have not been shut down.

Shouldn't they be busting granite for about 14 hours a day?

NO! It's not their fault. They were ruined by guns and Jesus. Just ask President Peanut Head.

Exactly. This isn’t going on in all jails and prisons. If it’s going on here they need a change in administration.

Yes. Absolutely  and loudly....YES!

Inmate work programs should be reinstated. Non-paying work. No cig money and all that crap. No easy trash pickup programs either. Actual work. 10+ hours a day of manual labor.

Prison and jail is supposed to be a puishment. Not a paid vacation from the outside world.

Our prison system needs to be looked at very closely

I saw this yesterday about the impregnated guards & the corruption run rampant. Reminded me of 'get the gringo' w/mel gibson. Just ridiculous. Ought to have them on bicycles generating cheap electricity for people with guards whippin the slackers. I don't give a damn about prisoner rights. They're forfeit by their actions. More than just elections have consequences. We need to privatize & immunize the corporations running prisons from lawsuits. There is no deterrence in our penal system. There is no 'hard time' anymore. Chains, shackles & sadistic guards aye yup.
No visits either. What the heck are we doing with all that desert in nevada, arizona, new mexico now anyways?

Fixes prisons.
Fixes laxity of attention in legal proceedings, real consequences, you better sit up, pay attention and get your facts straight.
Fixes the lack of fear in street criminals.

Today's prisons are about rehabilitation, not punishment.......hence the sparce use of capital punishment. Build public viewing gallows and give murderers, rapists and corrupt politicians and quick drop with a short stop!

The justice system we have is full of corruption and it's a never ending cycle for some. This country has the most populated prisons and largely due to the drug laws out there. Not a perfect system, but it is what we have at the moment. Til things change with the management of the prison systems ( by contractors), you can bet stuff like that will keep on going on. Sure it will slow down a bit here and there but til someone actually puts their foot down, it won't stop.

Who do you think gets these prisoners their cell-phones inside? It might just be some of the guards. In otherwords, keep everyone accountable, smuggling anything into a prison there shouldn't be a slap on the wrist but swift and immediate punishment( fire them, hire new ones). I think the TSA needs to do the screening of everyone coming into these prisons, even the bodyscanners. Make it so nobody is immune to the screening process to get in the prisons.

The TSA would only frisk old ladies and children.  How about no visitors?  The problem is that we take federal money for our prisons.  Texas doesn't.  Then there is the good sheriff in Arizona who dyes their jumpsuits and underwear pink and puts them in military tents... in the desert...  with green baloney to eat...  I think we need to get some politians with something in their pants besides our tax dollars.  Until we do, and we get the federal government out of our business, we are stuck with what we have.

If I were in charge this is how things would be.

Upon conviction they will have all hair removed from their body. Preferably through the use of some sort of pill or treatment. If not they will at a minimum have their head/face shaved. After that it will never happen again while in custody.

While incarcerated food would meet nutritional requirements without any consideration as to how it tasted. The entire meal would be blended together and served as a soup. They will be issued a cup when they enter their cell and that is what they will drink their food from, no utensils of any kind will be given. If they decide they are going to throw the soup flour will be added and bake it like a giant bisquit. They would be fed warm soup for one meal and cold bologna sandwichs for the other meal. Maximum of 2,500 calories per day.

If an inmate requires healthcare after convicted it will be their family that pays for it, not the taxpayers. If the family can't afford it too bad and if the inmate dies then the organs can be harvested. If an inmate is on death row, or serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole, their organs can be harvested at any time for the benefit of the law abiding even if the inmate is still alive.

Once convicted any money or valuables in their possession at the time of arrest will immediately be turned over to their victims. If it was a "victimless" crime then it will go towards the housing and feeding of the inmate.

There will be no such thing as commissary or inmate fund accounts.

Once convicted the only communication with the outside will be with their attorney and by mail only. The inmates will not be allowed to use any phones. There will be no such thing as visitation or conjugal visits.

There will be no televisions, no excercise equipment and the only time they spend outside of the 8x10 cell will be the 15 minute cold shower they take weekly. Their toothbrushes will only be the head with the bristles with no handle.

When inmates leave their cell they would wear a full face motorcycle helmet with the faceshield painted. This will prevent attempted assaults and escapes.

Inmates will only wear underwear while in custody. The jail will be kept at 65 degrees year round. They will not be issued a matress, blanket or sheets. Their bunk will either be made of concrete or steel.

I guess, they have to thank the lord you are not in charge.

Might be a little harsh, but most inmates in jail are there for minor offenses. I think they should at least get a mattress. Now the cold hard murderers, rapists and sexual offenders should be executed immediately after conviction. Or at least locked up in the deepest darkest hole under the prisons. No chance for parole, no chance of ever escaping. If they would televise executions, it would show the next generation of criminals what happens when they kill and rape. Problem with today's society is these libs are to scared of making an example, they lack the cojones needed to prevent future lethal criminals.

The drug offenders need help and rehabilitation, personal use offenders, Please, they only hurt themselves. It's the dealers who need time behind bars. If the law would only punish those who hurt others and "victim" crimes, maybe we wouldn't see so much overcrowding of the Prison systems.

I agree that most laws on the books to protect ourselves from ourselves should not be on there. If I want to smoke, shoot up or swallow any substance, illegal or not, I should be able to. Just for the record I do none of those things and never have. I believe MJ should be perfectly legal if for nothing else to free up prison space. Hold the person accountable only when there is a victim. I have never liked any of those laws on the books to protect ourselves. Should be survival of the fittest and smartest, if you are too dumb to realize that too much of XXXXX is going to kill you then that is your fault.

Might be a little harsh for first time offenders but if jail was really harsh they might consider doing anything to stay out of jail, including cleaning up their act. Joe Arpaio believes in the philosophy and I honestly believe it helps prevent some small time criminals from progressing into more hardened criminals. And it isn't like most criminals these days spend a fair amount of their sentence behind bars so make it harsh while they are. And those that got arrested for minor offenses are not likely to stay in jail anyways.

I have said for a llong time, on here too, that executions should be televised. Most occur around midnight so those you don't want watching should be in bed anyways. They need to show the execution as well as the clean up afterwards.

I will concede that maybe I went overboard on not allowing a mattress.

It isn't that hard to not break the law, millions of people do it every day.
