Trail camera help

Recommended Posts

I know next to nothing about trail cams. I'm looking to get one for my property mainly to see of any deer are lurking. If there a benefit to having the pictures emailed to me direct from the camera or is that not worth the additional money? I would love to know what you guys use and if you are happy with it. Thanks!

I use a Trailscout brand. It's a small unit that has a standard SD card. You just use a big enough card and check it once a month or every week, whichever you choose.

I would get one with IR flash for better night pictures.

Be careful when setting up the camera, of there is a branch nearby that gets blown in the wind, you can get TONS of "nothing" pics as the branch triggers the camera

If I were buying one again, I'd start with Cuddyback, it's on the higher end price wise, but function and picture quality equal the price. Edited by Lumber_Jack

I used various cameras over the years & have the best luck with Reconyx cameras. The Reconyx cameras don't miss anything & have great battery life which is nice.... Check out these pictures I was able to capture on my farm over the last year below, enjoy!
