A friend is moving to TN from KY. She has a KY carry permit, will she have to take the test in TN or will the DOS issued a HCP based on the KY permit?

Looks like she'll get the course waived, that'll save her 50-100 clams.

I know she doesn't have to take the course... but monies aside, it might be good to get the tennessee legal perspective if you could find a very qualified instructor. IMO - I'd be keen to do that if I moves to another state.

No offense to any given instructor, but in general you'll do as well to simply read the TN weapons and deadly force statutes, and spend a while in the Carry forum right here.

 

And of course, there are any number of absolutely incompetent instructors out there regarding the legal stuff that do more harm than good,  we see their idiot statements reported here all the time.
