A little info please

Have a friend with a pistol, I haven't seen it, but here's what I know. Brought back by one of his friends from Vietnam. 7.63mm Chi Con, 8 round clip. Stainless finish with red star on both grips. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could it be a 7.62 X 25 Tokarev? 7.63 is a Mauser, but could fire in it.

If it’s a Vietnam bring-back it won’t have a safety on it and could be valuable.

I tried google, but couldn't find much.

He said someone offered him $10k for it. But I'm not sure if the man was serious, he said the man was a Vietnam veteran and was eccentric.
