no offense intended but you are kidding yourself about this.

Dale was not bigger than the sport. I have no doubt he would have been very closely involved in development of the COT.

This INDY deal was BS, GoodYear did not bring the appropriate tire. I do notbelieve for one minute they cannot make a compound that would last under the stress of the weight of the car and the flat turn.

The real racecars which use that track don't seem to have any problems... Maybe it's a downforce issue, more than anything else? :shrug:

The cars have a ton of downforce but so do the open wheel cars. Of course the NASCAR racecars weight a tiny bit more . But I do believe that GoodYear could make a tire sufficiently hard enough not to br grated to pieces by the turns as Indy.

Now granted the hard tires would have less grip, but then the drivers do have brakes. And I think they could drive the cars through the turns with proper braking.

It is a shame they (NASCAR ) let GoodYear not do a proper job. After all, the race teams have no choice over the brand of tires they race on.
