I have the strikefire, it's a quality red dot at a value price. I think I paid $159 or so for mine. Comes with a screw-in 2x magnifier which isn't all that special but is handy from time to time.

All I know about them is that I know D&T Arms (an authorized vendor) in Goodlettsville sells them and he (Dave, the store owner) has said they are good. His word is good enough for me!

What is the intended purpose of the rifle? The reason I ask is so that I can give the best advice w/regards to whether or not this would be the best choice in optics ...

In general yea these are pretty decent electronic sights, but I wouldn't suggest them for anything more than "recreational use".

If you are wanting an optic for a work/duty/fighting/shtf rifle than I'd suggest ponying up the extra dough for one of the three proven performers such as an actual Aimpoint, Trijicon or Eotech.

True, it is going to be a duty/SHTF weapons platform, I'll just suck it up I guess... :surrender:

That's where I got mine. Guns & Leather is about $20-$30 cheaper, buy I didn't realize that until a few days after I bought it. Edited by TripleDigitRide

Well out of the "big three" I prefer the Eotech XPS series, much quicker target aquisition, much easier to engage & get hits on quick moving targets to.

Strikefire is a great optic in my opinion. I have the red dot only version and its great. Held zero so far perfectly.

I had a sparc, but much prefer my eotech and aimpoint. Quality is good for price, but it's it in same league as eotech and aimpoint. I had the sparc on my sig556, but I felt like it lost too much light in dim conditions. Also, the on off switch on two different models was inconsistent, I traded for an aimpoint pro for $150 more. I felt like extra $$ was well spent.

All that said, I am a fan of the SPARC, but I suggest use to be limited for light duty. Edited by wareagle

If you're on a budget, and its going to be a duty weapon:

Aimpoint PRO.

They work, they are built like tanks, and their battery life is unparalleled. I got mine for $385 shipped.

Heck I think I got my daughters Sparc from Wareagle if I remember correctly.

They are decent, very narrow field of view though and the controls on the side add additional obstruction. Not a lot but enough, it's a decent optic but like others have said it's not a SHTF optic. I like it over the strike though because of the size and weight.

I would recommend investing as little as possible initially and saving for for a T1, RMR, EoTech 2-2 or whatever flavor suits you - buy once cry once.

I have Strikefires on my rifles and I love them! Very reliable red dot that has held zero through thousands of rounds. I would trust it and mbus in shtf situation.

Just bought one (Strikefire red/green dot). Can't wait to try it out. Planning on using on AR10, hopefully .308 isn't too much bang for it.

"High recoil caliber rating—tested with .375 H&H Magnum for 1000 rounds."

I think it can handle a .308  , I am really curious about how well it puts up with a beating. After watching the Daniel Defense torture test and seeing that Aimpoint micro fall flat on its face, I am sold on Aimpoints reliability, just not so much the price, lol. I might get a Strikefire and ran it through the motions, Vortex claims alot with their specs and pending what kind of warranty it has who knows, it might just be a competitor for the Aimpoint. Just have to test it first and see I guess.

Yeah, I drool every time I see an Aimpoint, but cry when I see the tag. I know they are worth it, just can't do it. I've heard nothing but good about these Strikefires, so hope to put it through the paces next weekend.
