You're barking at the wrong guy. I did not vote for Obama in any election. I was forced to vote for McCain and Romney to try and get a Progressive Lite Politician in the Whitehouse. I did, however, vote for Ron Paul in the primary.

But what I said still holds true. Even if you vote for another Progressive RINO Republican, is he going to protect your 2A rights more than Obama? McCain voted anti-2A in the Senate, Romney had an AWB in his own state. How much easier would it have been to sway the Republican Senators to vote Aye on the new AWB if they had a Republican president pushing for an AWB? IMHO, I think if we had McCain or Romney as president, we'd had some form of an AWB passed now since it would've had more republican support as they'd had an excuse by backing their progressive rino president.

I'm not "barking" at YOU...I'm barking at everyone, everywhere who decided to either not vote at all or vote for a candidate that had ZERO chance of winning because the R candidate wasn't "good enough". That surely wasn't the only reason that Obama won reelection but I think it would be naive to say it had nothing to do with it.

Do I think a RINO is going to protect my 2A rights more than Obama?  Actually, yes, I do. Do I KNOW what he would have done? Of course not...we can both guess at what Romney would have done but no one should be even remotely surprised at what Obama was going to do after reelection, with or without a "Sandy Hook".

That said, I am not and never will be a one-issue voter and I'm a hell of a lot more concerned with the supreme court nominations Obama will now almost certainly get a chance to make which will impact "2A rights" for decades after Romney or whoever is president now.

Well, those that did stand their ground sent a message to the Republican party. These ignorant Progressive RINO's aren't good enough, and forcing us little by little to the left by giving us no choice but to settle for the lesser of two evils is not going to work anymore.

Seeing that Romney lost anyway, my wife and I both regret not going ahead and voting libertarian the whole way to farther drive the message and legitimize the party.

Bottom line, they keep this shit up and we'll either have a 3 party system splitting up the votes or permanent democratic socialist rule.

The constitution and SCOTUS nominations are some of the most important issues for me. If the Progressive RINO won't stand up for our constitutional rights to protect freedom and liberty, how can you expect them to pick a Constitutionalist to SCOTUS to protect your rights?

Do you really think McCain would send a true Constitutionalist to SCOTUS when he votes anti-2A? LOL

Sent a message?  Really???

Exactly what evidence do you have that the republican establishment got that "message" or give a shit about it?

You can keep marginalizing and denigrating the "progressive RINO's" all you want; I have mostly the same opinion, but you'll never convince me that any of them would be as bad as/make a poorer nomination to the supreme court as the current socialist in chief.

If they want those voters that either did not vote, voted libertarian, etc., because Romney was not enough contrast to Obama, then they will listen. Otherwise, they can lose another election by sticking more of the same RINO Progressive Lite up for President. Do you think more of the same, or going more left will help us at all?

Absolutely not. That is why I voted Progressive Lite; McCain & Romney. You keep forgetting that. ;)

I'm not the all or nothing crowd that would let the country crumble or collapse to prove a political point. :ugh:

Likewise, if we get another McCain and he votes to revoke your 2A rights and puts another Progressive in SCOTUS, do YOU think that will help us at all?

I believe if we lose any 2A rights in the future, they will be lost forever. There wasn't any expiration date on S.649 that I know of, so fat chance that we could petition future Progressive RINO's and Democratic Socialists, Marxists, etc., to get our rights restored. :2cents:

I'm not forgetting that...I'm just pointing out that I don't see a viable alternative. I don't believe for a moment that the Republican establish "got the message" (weren't even listening)...in fact, quite the opposite...I think they think Romney lost because he wasn't "middle of the road" enough.

However, other than voting for what the Republicans put up or just not bothering; I don't know what else to do...I think in 2012 we were at the tipping point...now...I think the tipping completely over is inevitable and the only question now is how long will it take.

I'm as frustrated with the choices as anyone else.

If we keep getting Progressive RINO's, we'll just be on the same path we are now, only difference would be just a little slower and less in your face hard core socialist rhetoric.

That means we need to start letting them know in whatever way we can, what we want in our party. I Suppose we can at the very least write them letters and call to voice our opinions. If they hear from enough of us, maybe they'll start waking up!

Really, I think this clip says it all:

"Republicans, take back your party so elections don't matter so much." ~ Pelosi

I think we all know the answer to that, Robert. I'm not sure I understand the circular firing squad, though. We

have who we have for whatever reason you choose, and we have a Republican Party that is fighting the Tea

Party with their cannibalism. I think the Republican Party is pretty much dead unless the Rockefeller influence

is flushed down the toilet and it somehow gets filled with a whole bunch of Allen West's, Rand Paul's and Ted

Cruz's. Somehow or another that could happen, but I have my doubts. You aren't going to change a voter

who is pissed off to the point that they decide not to vote. It sure won't win friends and influence people to a

particular cause, either.

If a groundswell doesn't come from the people to force some real damned change and not another faux candidate,

we'll have dug our own graves. Some people are just not going to vote for anyone with what the so-called right

side has had up for offer. I'm not so sure I disagree with them, either.

Either the party moves to the right a whole lot or it gets replaced. No more of this middle ground will cut it.

Nah, Hillary is not nearly radicalized enough for the REAL Progressives, Eric Holder is your next President.

Nah, but the Peter Principle dictates he'll be a Supreme Court justice.

Would rather have him as POTUS, less time for damage (if I am going to be force fed).  I just think the powers that put Obama in office will never settle for Hillary, they will try and put a like minded fleck of the same substance in to finish the destruction.

I normally give you credence for well thought out deductive reasoning, but the girls I run around with tell me that Holder has the inside track.

There will be plenty of ammo. But like gasoline, now that they know what people will really pay; the prices may not drop back to where they were.

I guess the "circular firing squad" is a product of frustration.

People keep saying Romney wasn't good enough and the Republican party is dead and on and on and on...ALL of which I pretty much agree with. My frustration is that I don't see an answer.

I guess I've lost what little hope I had that things could actually be turned around and instead, I simply see those who still care, hanging on by the fingernails as our liberties are slowly but inexorably taken from us.

The "hopefuls" people are talking about; well...I've seen major flaws in pretty much all of them...I just don't see anyone out there with credentials, the principles and the appeal to even get elected; much less have any real impact other than on a token level.

I'm about at the place where I have two things left to hope for...

1. That I check out of here before it really goes to hell.

2. That I'm wrong about all I just said above.

We'll see.

Hillary has already been anointed for nomination, seems only a matter of if she wants it (of which I have no doubt myself)  and if her health holds up.

Betcha a quarter.
