Music City Tactical Shooters - Steel Match

It is a possibility but still undetermined. The 2nd draft will be coming out on Wednesday with more targets added and different PAR times. I used this past weekend's match to gauge the PAR times initially displayed. The current COF is to get people familiar with the match type.

Tish is running the Nashville 1/2 on Saturday, but we think we're still gunna make it for the shoot... What a trooper!!! Can't WAIT to shoot some steel with the round gun!!!

Wow, those are some fairly quick Par Times.  It is my understanding that you must stop shooting at the end buzzer.

Is this correct?

If that’s the case, then based on my scores last week I would only get to shoot about 1/2 of each stage if that much.    Looking at all the scores only a couple of top shooters might hit the par times (most were not hit) and the rest of us middle of the road shooters would get a half match.  Is this how it works?

I am not complaining just trying to weighing my options given the cost of doing business (fun).

You are basing assumptions only on the initial stage design. Round 2 will be coming out on Wednesday with more targets and possible different PAR times. The first outline is to gauge the complexity involved on paper. There will be a lot of people that will be able to make the PAR time of all skill level when the final version is formulated.

Adding PAR time is an extra piece(level) of stress for the COF. The times currently listed were the fastest times on each stage from this past weekend by different individuals.

Okay, thanks for the clarification.  I look forward to seeing the final COF.  I understand the adding the level of stress, but if less than 2% of the shooters can even come close to the Par time it becomes a little discouraging.  Of coarse, I was looking at the initial stage design and not the final.

You have so many seconds setup on the timer for PAR time.  You have to shoot down as many targets within that time frame as possible.  Every target down your final score will go down 1 second.  There are chances that a shooter can be in the negative for overall time.

That sounds like it could be fun or disastrous LOL if I wasn't already obligated this weekend Id like to try that.

Par courses are typically setup so that most shooters will not put all targets down. But if you can suppress the stress and get close, you can actually come out with some very competitive times because a lot of good shooters freak out about the second buzzer.

That would take me 2 days and 500 rounds lol. Steel is my mortal enemy

Will never get over that fear until you keep shooting it.

I shoot for the fun and the thrill of competition.   The competition part is lacking so for now I have to stick to the fun side of things.  Maybe it will play to my advantage, maybe not.

I like shooting steel.  Other than gun malfunctions, it’s the shooter versus the steel and your accuracy really shows in your scores.    While I didn’t fair to well in the last match with my pistol, I had a blast doing it.

The shotgun was also a hoot to shoot.
