Good, now interview him and get this over and done with as soon as possible. That way he can meet his 72 virgins and I wonder if they are women or men or goats though. You know what I am hoping for.

 

The longer this drags on the more the radicals will begin to honor him and we do not need that.

I agree 100%!  "It's" mom and dad got passports and is traveling to Boston to visit him. I actualy have a hard time beleiving we'd allow more of "them" to come here. I mean daddy already threatened "there is going to be hell pay"! I think they can visit later. When will we ever learn....

The way I see this is that he is accused of murder and attempted murder. Plus take you pick of any number of State and Federal weapons charges. He is a Citizen and the Bill of Rights Protects him. If we find out that this crime was based on his hatred of a religion or a class of people then throw the Hate Crime charges at him too 

 

The conduct of Law Enforcement concerns me as it does appear that the 4th Amendment was violated. If that is the case then those individuals should be charged too.

 

I was taught that the purpose of the trial is to determine the truth. So let Dzhokar and the Boston PD both go to trial. Let the legal system sort it out. That is the way that it should be. We may or may not like the result but the system we have by and large works. It makes mistakes but it generally works. The Winston Churchill quote that "democracy is the worst form of government invented ..... except for all others" fits in this case.

 

Now if Dzhokar is convicted then he should serve his sentence just like any other felon. But in his case I would guess that it will be served in isolation "for his protection" as it will be several years if not decades until it will be safe for him in the general prison population. I think the nicest thing we could do for him would be to send him to GITMO to serve his sentence as that is the only safe prison for him.

The father is pissed because one son is dead, another was being hunted, people in the United States were already demanding the guy be executed on site, and many others were calling for him to be tortured, beheaded, etc.  The dad said if the police killed his other son, there would be "hell to pay."  If your son was being held in a Russian jail, a country with which we have a long history of animosity and distrust, accused of a similar crime under a similar set of circumstances, how would you feel if the Russian government wouldn't let more of "them" (meaning you) come to their country to see your son? 
 

With attitudes like those that have been demonstrated in the aftermath of this event, is it any wonder why other nations dislike us, distrust us, and have no respect for us?  Our country simply doesn't practice what it preaches.  You're right; when *will* we ever learn?

I personaly don't have that problem! Mommy ain't coming because she'll be arrested the second she steps foot in Mass.. Look at the circumstances! I know what you're saying...it just don't jive with me!

Other nations may distrust us and have no respect for us. But it sure isn’t because of the way we handle terrorists. We are weak. We have people complaining about not reading an enemy combatant his rights, while others quote our founding fathers out of context. Our founding fathers would have held a speedy trial and hung this guy.

 

I heard the stories about the family complaining about the media showing their dead azz terrorist sons body lying in the street. I wonder what they thought of the pictures that were posted of the dead and the guy that had his legs blown off by their son. I wonder if they knew that one son ran over and killed the other son while he was down.

 

I don’t care if they come here, and I don’t blame them for what their sons did. But they sure as hell don’t get to act like victims, or start making threats. Did law enforcement kill his other son? No, but they are going to. Unless he has something significant to offer, and he claims he doesn’t; he is going to be executed. Let his parents come and say goodbye. But I hope the American taxpayers aren’t paying one red cent of their travel expenses.

As far as I'm concerned the parents can see their son when we ship his carcass back to Russia. Screw his family. I love my kids, and will love them no matter what they do, but I would absolutely condemn their actions if they committed violent crimes such as murder. The father should be denied entry based on his previous comments.

His mommy was arrested in Mass, on a $1600.00 shoplifting charge. She skipped back to Russia and was a no show in court. There is a warrent for her. Pillers of the community I'm sure! The rest of the family here in the states has nothing to do with them. I wonder why?

I'm certain the people in other countries would vigorously disagree with you. Weakness isn't the issue to them, what they see as hypocrisy is the issue. The issue of trying to rhetorically transform an American citizen into an "enemy combatant" so we can justify withholding due process is exactly the sort of thing I am talking about. Our founders would have insisted on a fair trial that includes all due process. As I mentioned earlier, John Adams insisted that the British soldiers who were involved in the Boston Massacre would be given a full public trial that included legal representation. In other words, "foreign combatants" were entitled to full due process. We have no problem with the idea of showing the dead suspect's body in the street, but we sure as hell raise a stink when other nations do that to our citizens and service members. I'm not aware of anyone suggesting that the families should have a paid trip here,but some are certainly saying we should not allow them to be here.
