Well said price gouging gun blast

This is sage advice and I hope everyone is paying attention to who's taking advantage and who isn't.

I hope the shops/people that are gouging right now have 2" of dust on their hoarded over-priced stuff or wind up competing with Walmart prices when it's over.

Last week my boss was showing me an e-mail from Cheaper Than Dirt advertising an optics-ready M&P sport for the bargain price of $1,799. I've told him for a long time not to do business with CTD due to their history of gouging. He has finally seen the light.

Yep I think it should be called higher than dirt now 335 rounds of 22lr for $159.00

Yesterday a buddy and I drove 150 miles, $35 in gas, $10 to get in the gate, went to get small rifle and pistol primers, 5k of each, got asked 40 & 60 per thousand by a young fellow. We politely said that was too high for Wolf primers and as my buddy and I turned to leave, we literally got laughed at by the young salesman who then quoted us to the girl behind the counter.

I got home and ordered 5k of each from Sinclair at 21.99/1000... I will not tolerate being derided by a vendor trying to gouge me, nor will I ever spend one cent on his products again.

It will come back and bite them in the long run and who will be laughing then ??? . People will remember who did them right and who didn't , and always support the honest ones and buy from them.

There are a lot of people who drove to the gun show. You tolerate what you tolerate. I think I know which booth

you are talking about. As far as I know, those are a majority of the primers in the state, or states. They had to

go up on their prices this last week or so because they paid more for them. I know because I picked them up

and saw the receipt. You may not see those primers from Sinclair for a while. Have they shipped? I hope it's

soon, but unless your card has already been charged. you may be in for a wait, and a price increase. :D They

have gone up when they are available

Getting on here and griping is one thing, but when you were quoted a price, deal with it.

I don't care for the parking charge at the fairground, when they have the gun shows there, but griping about your

gas and the price to get in the gun show is silly. As long as I've been going to gun shows, they've always cost

between 8-10 bucks. Get an electric car, also.

If someone is rude to you, how about dealing with it with the person who was rude, instead of crying about it on

the internet? If it's who I think it was, that's exactly how you should have dealt with it. I'm sure you're just a saint,

and didn't say anything that might have been construed rude or, at the least, cheeky, yourself.

Something you don't understand is I'm just as mad as anyone about prices but I understand

why some people price the way they do. Some people are truly gouging the market and others

are scrambling for inventory just to have it to sell, and the prices they pay just to have that

inventory are higher than they should be. There still is a cost of doing business, unless you forgot

that, or never understood that.

On a lighter side, gasoline fell a little over the last couple weeks.

Do we have a list of gougers made yet?

I like the idea of a list, but we're not all shopping for the same things. Plus, we all have different thresholds on what we'd call gouging. Do we measure by percentage or by dollar? Charging $30 for a pmag isn't the same as charging $90 for a brick of .22 or $130 for a tin of 7.62x54R.

I'm just saying, it's all relative.

I assume your links are to empty shelves at Sinclair and you are right, as I got back-ordered, but no bother, as it happens in this day and age. SPG filled an order from Jan 1 just a few weeks ago, at the agreed upon price. If Sinclair does jack the price, I'll not spend another dime with them either.

I don't know how much ammo I've sold to members here, quite allot though, at my cost. Haven't made one dime off of it and in fact lost money just to meet people to drop it off, so it seriously chaps my butt to have these prices rubbed in my face. YMMV

Found some 9mm range at Academy for 12.99 today. My LGS had similar for 34.99. I'd rather get from them but that's a big difference. Needless to say that's the first box I've picked up in a while. I'm hoping that as people "pay these prices and pay no more" prices will drop.

I'll keep going to both stores and all as I'm sure prices will drop. I'm seeing a little more ammo than last month.

I agree with ol gunblaster... I haven't and will NOT buy from these gougers and scalpers... that's all it is and that's what i call them... of course they don't consider themselves that though... after all that is the first stage of Kubler Ross's 5 stages used... DENIAL!

what do you call a guy that goes and buys a concert ticket and then resells it at 2-3 times what he paid for it? A SCALPER! same with ammo... or anything for that matter...

i refuse buy from those type people... just kinda shows you what sort of person they really are on the inside... but the problem is most of them actually think they are decent people, ROFL

Nothing to calm down over. I'm perfectly calm. :D I just think it's rather rude when people do this, when they could

have said it to their face and been done with it.

Sometimes it's just better to just walk away. You never know until you try it. These are trying times enough.

Not being desperate I will stay buying from Academy Sports as needed, I too like buying from the local gun store but not at 2x+ the cost.  I doubt if Cheaper Then Dirt will ever see anyone dollar from me.  NO matter how much I want the Serbian Officers Faux leather trench coat with oversized pockets

What is price gouging? Is that where someone quotes you a price, you agree to the said price, and then complain because you paid the price to which you and the seller both agreed?

Funny, that sounds an awful lot like the free market at work. Well, all except the complaining part.
