Do any of you guys have smart phone apps you use for shooting? I have a ballstics calculator I use for estamating drops during intial sight in and for comparisons. Right now I want an app that will use gps to measure distance walked in yards to measure off ranges, but haven't found anything. I'm on an android jellybean system if anyone knows of an app that will work to measure distance.

The only app I've fooled with is one called "Gun Disassembly" or something like that.  It was pretty cool.  It had quite a few models on the free version and you could  buy others for very little.  THe animation showed each part coming out in order.  And, of course you could reverse the process and see how to get them back together.

Strelock I have found is pretty cool for ballistics no GPS though.

I like Mil-Dot Rangefinder and Ballistic.

Distance Finder is a good one for using imagery for checking distances.

Edit: I'm on the iPhone though. Did a quick search on the Android Market and there are some possible apps that might work but not the same one that I use. Edited by Romad7

Some of the apps made for running/walking will measure distances by GPS using your phone. "MapMyRun" is the one Im thinking about and I use for bikes, runs, etc.; but should work for marking off ranges also.

Pick up a laser range finder. It will save you the walk to the targets. I ALWAYS have one in with my shooting gear. I use it to verify target distances. They have gotten cheap now and you can find them for sale for under $100.

Great idea. My bro uses the same one for golfing and shooting. He's much more accurate with a rifle than he is his 9-iron.
