I was just wondering I'd anyone knew of an active forum like this one for Cincinnati or Ohio? Gonna be moving there in a few months and would like to know of there's something similar. The 2 I've seen so far haven't appeared very active.

I was thinking more for the classifieds section since conversation works over long distances. I may not post much, but I read and learn a lot. It is how I learned about CHMR and the stores I have had tthe best dealings with (GnL and D&T). That local knowledge of what places are best is the other element I would like to find in a local site. Though I have yet to buy off the classifieds here, I do enjoy that feeling of "oooooh, that's pretty AND up for grabs?!" While fighting the temptation to spend. Edited by Averhoeven

Me too! I often just browse to look at the pictures. Too often I find myself "needing" to make a trip to TN to meet someone for a trade/purchase.

I lived in northern ky and Cincy for a few years. I don't know what side of Cincy you will be on, but there is a really good pawn shop just over the river in northern ky. "Quick Cash" in Florence always had really good prices, great selection and friendly too. If they didn't have it, they would order it and there in 2 days. That was pre-Newtown, but my friend up there says they are still good place to shop.

Also, ohgunowners.net might have classifieds but I'm not sure.

If I'm not mistaken, OH is a "must inform officer" state if you have carry permit... Just FYI

Thanks, that's all good to know. I had only heard bad things so far and mostly about 2 shops.
I do have my permit and have been carrying much more consistently since I bought my PPS since it's actually comfortable. I'll be up there next weekend, so the law tidbit is good to know though I suspect I would inform them anyway, particulalrly if it was for something routine and my fault like speeding.
I think my first goal will be to find a nice outdoor range that doesn't charge an arm and a leg (spoiled bycharlie perhaps?).

There was a really nice outdoor range up near Waynesville, OH (about 30-40 mins north of Cincinnati). It was free and maintained by the state. They had rifle, pistol and a 3D archery course as well as a range officer. That was several years ago so not sure if it is still there or how crowded it might be now. I think I found it listed in the state hunting regulations guide.

This is where I usually went if I wanted to shoot indoors http://www.shootersupply.net/site/
It's just over the river in KY. Edited by Batman
