Anti's to go after black and smokeless powder next...

Recommended Posts

Powder is a propellent not an actual explosive anyway, granted if the pressure of a burning propellent is captured & allowed to build up enough, it will "explode" but they are not one & the same.

Heck pressurized air can "explode" if enough pressure is allowed to build up, should we also require background checks for scuba tanks & air compressors?

Let's face it, the nanny state socialists aren't going to stop until the entire nation is wrapped in bubblewrap, biodegradeable, recycled, ecofriendly bubblewrap.

... except that if you put enough pressure on a bubble wrap you get a "pop," or mini explosion, so that will likely also be banned

“It is outrageous that anyone, even a known terrorist, can walk into a store in America and buy explosives without any questions asked,” said Senator Lautenberg.

What I find outrageous is that blowhard Lautenberg and anyone else on the left for that matter thinks they know what's best for me and you.

And if these guys had wanted they could have made their own explosives from stuff bought at their CVS which would have blown better and caused more injury and death. Once again, you can't prevent evil, you can only react to it. As long as man has his imagination he will be capable of killing mass amounts of people regardless of any feel good legislation our whorediots in DC pass.

If your first reaction to something is to ban it than you're not really interested in fixing the problem.   Either an Oportunists or an Idiot.       IMO, 70% of the DC politicians are opportunists looking to cash in on the publicity/re-election potential, 20% are idiots, 5% are ok, and the jury is still out on the rest.

Academy Sports is selling Tannerite.  And another by Red Jacket.  Methinks that is an explosive.

Wonder what 5 pounds of flash powder would do?

It is not an "explosive" until you mix it. Hint, the ingredients to Tannerite are fertilizer, a common and legal product, and aluminum, another common and legal product. Once the two are mixed it becomes an explosive but as sold Tannerite is perfectly legal. And according to the ATF it is perfectly legal for an individual to make explosives for personal use. Licensing requirements come in when you use your home made explosive to make money or you store it sell it already mixed. You cannot legally use those home made explosives to make a destructive device, like a pipe bomb or other offensive device.

News this morning says the explosive had perchlorate as the oxidizer, which means flash powder, which means fireworks.

Anyone else like setting off the big mortar round fireworks?  We could be next . . .
