I visited Sportsmans Warehouse today and they had a LC380. This is the first time I have ever seen 1. Its a 380 built on the Lc9 frame. It is a very nice gun and my gf loved it. Does anyone own 1 or has shot 1 to compare it to any other gun? Thanks in advance!

Not sure I understand the point of them.  It only holds one more round than an LCP and is bigger.

I don't understand the 380 from any point of view with the small 9mm's that are out there now. I have a lc9 and it conceals very easy and is a pleasure to shoot. I have not seen the lc380 but don't think I could be convinced its needed.

Sometimes you just need a tiny gun. Decent caliber and decent round count.

Thats why i bought my LCP. Running to the corner store or whatever I can just shove it in my pocket and run without any hassle. Extra deep concealed carry when needed

I can see a limited use for the LC380. The LCP can be a little snappy for inexperienced or smaller shooters. Same could be said for the LC9. I would imagine the recoil from an LC380 would be minimal.

While not as small as the LCP, I think the LC380 is still concealable, especially for smaller framed females. In addition, I compared both the LC9 and LC380 side by side and the recoil spring was noticeably lighter. It could make racking the slide easier for females and the elderly.

I agree that a compact 9mm is probably best for most people but it definitely has its place for certain shooters.

my LCP sits in a wallet holster 24/7.  I've gotten to the point when its not there, I still even stick my wallet on the other side!

My LCP will still be around 50 years from now when I am old, gray, and chillin in my rocking chair :)

LCP's are wonderful but they are really snappy. The LC380 can't have that much reduced recoil over a LC9 but I guess every little bit matters. I guess Ruger thought if they are being made for other countries, we might as well try selling them in the US also. I can't see a huge amount of sales for the LC380 but if someone reloads .380 and not 9, if someone is really recoil shy, if their other guns are .380.....

Thanks for keeping things on topic lol. I love you guys input on everything. She was able to operate the LC380 easily especially after using a Glock. The biggest draw is that is has a safety like the LC9 unlike the LCP. I have learned recently from personal experiences and others that girls aren't generally as comfortable carrying with a round chambered. Just trying to accommodate.

Normally the snappy recoil would be an issue on a defensive handgun, but if I am using my LCP, it will be at point blank range. It is a very handy little gun. I carried a G19 before, and while a great gun, sometimes I didn't feel like putting on a belt or whatever, and I am tall and slim, and wear athletic cut tshirts, so sometimes the gun would be exposed or print. The LCP goes in one pocket with it's holster, spare mag and cellphone go in the other.

I am on campus a lot, so I don't carry much any more.

.

The Little LCP's are hard to beat for as easily as they carry.
If you feel the snap, aggressive recoil, your target notices it to.
