hey, my name is jamey i reside in hilham tn, Just joined today ive been a guest at the site on numerous occasions there are some very knowledgeable members here, I appreciate the posts, they have answered a few questions for me. I have posessed a carry permit for the past 4 years i have always carried a revolver, just started getting into the autos had a few glocks and 1911s but finally satisfied with the xd 45 it fits me right, and i hit with it every time. Finally talked the girlfriend into getting her carry permit and looking to get her a good dependable gun, but the only gun she seems to like is the 9mm bersa, and the pf9 kel-tec, i dont know why but she wants one,I have tried to sell her on the xd9 subcompact and the subcompact glock, but she just dont like them, if anyone has any experience with the pf9 or the bersa any input would be appreciated. i look forward to talking with yall and maybe giving some good input myself. thank you.

Welcome. I've had experience with the PF9 and it is a great little 9. I've heard some women having limp wrist problems due to its light weight, but I never had any issues. It is snappy but nothing unmanageable. I say, if she likes it and will shoot it then that's her gun.

Welcome! :hat:

You stated your past experience with revolvers... has your girlfriend had any experience with a J-frame, such as a S&W 442 or 642?

My wife is fairly new to firaerms, as well, and we're getting her ramped up to take the class and get her permit. She's shot several glocks, XD's, 1911's etc. She always loved my Kimber 1911 CDP II, and wanted one... but recently tried a 642. She immediately fell in love with it. Managed to track down one of the limited edition runs with the pink rubber grips, and it was a done deal.

Small enough she can easily carry it on her person or stash it in a purse if absolutely need be, very little recoil, and yet very formidable in the .38 round. And absolute reliability and simplicity, as all revolvers offer. Definitely a good platform to carry.

In regards to the Bersa, I have no experience with the 9mm variants, but have a .380 that I sometimes use as a BUG. Very good gun, well made, inexpensive, and fun to shoot. I would assume the same about their larger caliber line-up.

Again, welcome to the TGO site... and get her to sign up as well. Several women shooters on here, that carry daily, with their own female section on the site. The more the merrier.
