Farragut proposing Kennesaw-esque firearms legislation

Didn't see a post on this, and found the article interesting. Especially enjoyed all the people freaking out in the comments about how they didn't want to own a gun and that this law was stupid...blah blah blah. Opinions? Edited April 19, 2013 by seawolf138

Farragut? I've always considered that to be Knoxville's California suburb.

Yeah, I've been trying to find a way to phrase a response, but I'm nowhere near eloquent enough and I'm not going to be happy with my response so I gave up.  If they can't be bothered to read the whole article, then I don't suppose my response telling them they are not going to be required to own a gun isn't going to convince them.

Sure was that way when I came up here in '68. But seems has become the most upscale part and Yankee-ized part of the area now. Maybe a unfair assessment.

When I went to high school there, opposing sports teams called us the 'Farragut farmers', because it was semi-rural.

 

It has changed a lot since I moved to mid-TN, but the people who grew up there are still the same, regardless of the home they are living in.

Good grief, when I first moved to Knoxville off Cedar Bluff Rd, IT was rural.

 

For that matter, all of Knoxville has changed a lot.  Except, of course, that the interstate is probably still under construction.

 

I've no doubt that the priveleged that have moved in have changed the social demographics of the area.

 

I still like the idea of a legislator having the cajones to suggest the bill.
