form 1 error, what to do?

Recommended Posts

I know I made an error on my Form1 (sbr), I put the wrong name in for "manfuacture".

I know it will come back to me in a few months, but what is the best way to correcto the error?  I know it will have to be done on the original form (x2),

so, maybe liquid white out or shoud i just put a line or two through the mistake and write the correct name in the space above?

Thx

Since they're going to put the stamp on one of the original's, I'd submit a totally clean one.  In fact, it's probably worth a call to the examiner to ask if you can go ahead and send the corrected document directly.

I've always found them easy to work with when you can show you're trying to save them work by doing it correctly.

It sounds like you have the form in your hand still. If that is the case redo the form and have CLEO sign off on it again.

If it is already in the ATF's hands then do what MacGyver said. Who knows the examiner might fix it for you while you are on the phone.

What did you put in for the manufacturer and what is it supposed to be? If it is already a firearm and you are making a SBR, SBS etc, then the name of the gun's original maker is what goes in there. If you are building something from scatch (like a suppressor) then your name, your city and your state goes in there.
