First reports made it sound like it was attacked. Is this what things have come to, everything is an attack until proven otherwise. It is a very sad situation and I think the media should treat it like that until it is proven to be an attack.

Apparently the owners/mgmt of the plant told the EPA recently there was zero chance of an explosion or fire ever happening here. :shake:

 

This is very strange timing given the recent events in Boston. My heart goes out to these people, it sounds like it leveled half the town.

That was an unbelievable explosion.  The 20 yr anniversary of the Branch Davidian mess is Friday.  Coincidence?  :tinfoil:

A bigger (...but very similar...) ammonium nitrate explosion happened at the port of Texas City, TX.  There must be something about water and burning ammonium nitrate in large quantities that touches off the explosions.  Check this link here for the Texas City report: http://www.nfpa.org/assets/files/pdf/texascity.pdf

 

Ammonium nitrate is powerful stuff.  Our prayers go out to the affected families.
