What ever happened to pull down components from military surplus

Used to be able to get components from a bunch of suppliers in the shotgun news. The military said that they weren't going to let contractors have the out of date ammo anymore. The "you know what" hit the fan and they said they'd start doing it again. Well, if they did, I don't see it. Humm! me thinks NATO has their god like paws in this. Anybody know anything about this?

yes the companys that have the pull down conyracts now just scrap it

this is going to cause the price of ammo and reloading stuff to go through the roof

So instead of selling it as loaded ammo or demilling in to components and making a LOT of money they scrap it for +/- $2.50 a pound?

I wonder if they had any choice in the mater. The pull down powder from the 30 carbine worked great for magnum loads in 357 and 44 mag. The bullets worked fine for USPSA 3 gun. Military brass if the finest made. Too bad.

Our government probably sends it all overseas to AlCIAda,LOL. Got to keep the tangos in arms and ammo so our government will have a reason to do something about it.

fired brass as of late goes for about 5-6 per pound  .scrap runs around 2.60 per pound

in the last few months the surplus brass powder and bullets just dried up.

even at knob creek there wasnt any surplus powder oh there was some 872 but you can onky load so much 50bmg

i havent done that yet. i do load cast bullet rifle loads with wc860 case full with a magnum primer it works great
