Fatal shooting of dog in front of owner apparently legal

I always wonder about that one dog that a few whacks on the head doesn't bother. I prefer to go home without being bitten and without having to get any rabie shots. Or without a few hundred/thousand dollars in vet bills from my bitten dog. I know ammo is expensive, but I can spare a round or two or three.

That is why i carry a beating stick when i walk my dogs. I have been approached by much larger dogs not on a leash. 1 to 2 good thumps on the head does it about every time. I also wouldn't keep a dog that attacked other dogs for no reason.

I have to come down on the other side of this issue. My God, it was a Jack Russel Terrorist... If you can't kick that dog's ass then you really don't need to be out walking, I seriously doubt you could hold onto your own animals. Sounds to me like the psycho neighbor just wanted to exercise his rights. More than one way to handle the situation than simply pulling your piece and killing an animal in it's home territory. Hell he could have simply eased on down the road.

My dog is a treasured part of my family, he would lay his life down for me and I feel the same about him...

A stranger, walking through my neighborhood, up and shoots my dog because a territorial dispute has broke out between the animals...! 'Sweet Cheeks' had best save a few rounds because I'm damn well coming for him. We'll be talking about the rest of it during the discovery process.

YMMV
