I disagree. I'm thrilled that it all went to a vote. If it had not, we wouldn't have seen the serious thrashing of the AWB and magazine bans. They may eventually get enough support for expanded background checks, but bans are just out of reach. If you recall our panic when this started, it was about bans. We're pretty safe from that now, and it's on record.

Well, approximately a little over half of the voting electorate in our country is stupid and useless just by witnessing the results of the last two POTUS elections.

Only a bit over half the eligible voters in our country actually do it, so actually only bit more than 25% actually elected him.

 

However, I doubt if pressing the half that don't vote into action would necessarily be a good thing either.
