Remington to stay in NY

It is only a $80 million dollar contract we are talking about.

"Only" $80M.  I think government spending levels have jaded you. ;)

If they weren't "perfectly fine with it", they would at LEAST consider moving.

They have opened a facility in Kentucky, and in last year’s contact the union negotiated to represent any new plants for the next five years. Sounds like someone is thinking about it.

If most of their machines are near the end of their service life they might be able to sell the facility and move. But moving machines is no small cost. We spent $150K to move one machine from NY to TN. plus they would run the risk of losing many of their best people. They couldn’t move to Tennessee and hire enough skilled machinists to get the job done.

They won’t hurt NY by leaving. The will only hurt the employees that have been loyal to them and possibly the shareholders and customers if they do something stupid financially because of politics.

But putting all that aside, I’m just still at a loss as how anyone can see how Remington has turned on us or sold us out.

I would say a lot of their employees would follow a good job to a non-communist state. I'm sure their employees are good people. All that aside, I just think that if their loyalty lies with the Constitution over money, they could make that clear. They haven't done that. Unless I'm missing something...

Exactly.

Just how far should some of you advocate this "purist" 2A approach?

Maybe Barrett and every gun store should move out of TN also. After all, we're being infringed big time here with no constitutional carry. Hell, can't even have a loaded heater in vehicle without a permit, and can't have a fully loaded long gun in there even with one. Can't legally carry even with the already infringing permit in thousands of places in the state. Etc.

Hell, we can't even carry a switchblade or 4+" knife, so Smoky Mountain Knives and every custom knifemaker in the state should bug out too.

Maybe we all should put our money where our mouths are and get the hell outta here to Arizona or Alaska rather than live under such 2A oppression!

That's very tempting. Seriously. I agree that the laws here in TN aren't optimal but it's worlds above NY and CA and we all know that.

But of course not my real point. Just trying to find the minimum level of 2A infringement that folks don't feel the least bit hypocritical about living under while calling the oldest surviving US firearm company an evil sum bitch.

Hell, Remington doesn't even necessarily call all the shots. They're owned by Freedom Group ya know which is still owned by Cerberus. So if you're gonna boycott them, include Bushmaster, DPMS, Barnes, Para,  Marlin, H&R, and others.
