Tennessee Senators vote FOR Cloture on Gun Bill

Recommended Posts

I don't think this should surprise anyone.  The list of Republicans who voted to proceed are:

Alexander
Ayotte
Burr
Chambliss
Coburn
Collins
Corker
Flake
Graham
Heller
Hoeven
Isakson
Kirk
McCain
Toomey
Wicker

I didn't vote to reelect Corker, and this is just further evidence that I was correct on my decision.

I just got through contacting both Alexander's and Corker's office and voiced my disappoinment and disgust with thier vote to support Harry Reid and the gun grabbers. I will work actively the next campaign cycle to see that both of them are primaried.

I knew both of them were weak on this, but I have e-mails from both of them that state that neither would support or vote for any legislation that would infringe on our 2nd Ammendment right.

So I wonder what obama promised Alexander at their "dinner" the other day to get him to vote for this?

I see private sales going. When they debate this, I at least hope they get something in return.

What would be some silly outdated laws that we could get overturned in our favor???

It's a one way street, we never get anything in return.

Yeah their idea of compromise is we just screw you a little less than we could have.

I got in contact with Alexanders office and they said that Senator Alexander only voted for this bill to "proceed".  The staff member said that this way he could see what is in the bill. DUH That sounds like something out of Nancy Pellosi's playbook.  If its gun control, which it is, and it come from Harry Reid which it did, then why does he need to see what's in it?

To all of you who voted for these clowns simply because they had an "R" beside their name......HERE'S YOUR SIGN!!!!

In that case, I hope you didn't vote for the Democrat running against them. One of them had a close race with Harold Ford Jr,

who doesn't live in Tennessee anymore, thankfully. I wonder what that vote would have been if Ford was our Senator? :D

Here's your sign, back.

But they do need to be primaried with someone better. If you could provide someone running against the two of them

as an alternative, I'd appreciate it if you would expose this tidbit of knowledge. Otherwise, there is one reason to vote

as you say.

Ok. I just got through to corker's office, and they are still answering phones 202-224-3344. That chick answering the phone was stressed. She already had her answer prepared that he did not want to stop due process. I had a polite conversation and they have no doubt that he has lost my vote.

Alexander is still busy. 202-224-4944

**Edit**
Finally got through to Alexander's office. His aide is not nearly as polite as Corker's, lol. If anyone's in the mood for a little 'tude from your elected official, call LA's office. Edited by Batman

Evidently Corker believes we have short memories, since he's got the job for five more years.  Alexander will run again in 2014 so evidently he's counting on our memories being very short.

Corker is like Alexander, Haslam, and Harwell, they have plenty of money and an organization, and the Democrats are sooo bad here that they just can not imagine anyone voting for the other side, so they have us, in their opinion.

Debra Maggart told me the same thing, who else is a conservative going to deal with?  They no longer need those who might be of a conservative bent.

What really gets my blood pressure up is when you call them and they tell you how much they support the second amendment and would NEVER do anything to jeopardize it. Not only do they cast the vote, then they want to try to pretend it didn't happen. Classic case of just telling people what they want to hear. Spineless if you ask me.
