Glock 21 : Gen 2 or 3 ?

I have a new Glock 21 Gen 3 .  I like the Gen 3 but also the Gen 2 . What are your thoughts on which is better ?

I ask this becuase I am on the fence right now about finding a nice Gen 2 Glock 21 to trade even .

The Gen 3 has the loaded chamber indicator on the extractor , finger grooves, and a more glossy finish.

The Gen 2 has no finger grooves , no loaded chamber indicator on the extractor and a flat grayish type finish .

Any other pros and cons ?

Are the newer Gen 3 Glock 21's upodated or more improved over the Gen 2's ?

I have always been a Gen2 guy.  I now have amassed a good collection.  Do you ever hear in bad raps on Gen2?  You can usually find them cheaper than a Gen3, and in my view, they just feel better, and groove thingy isn't a problem.  I am still on a quest to find a Gen2 model 32 that is stamped with 357Sig.

Gen 2 and here is my reason.I have owned several Gen 2 21s and 30s and all have worked well with with my reloaded ammo. Some will have weaker ejection with lighter loads but ejection is still off to the right.I picked up a Gen 3 last year and HOLY CRAP!! that thing kicked spent brass everywhere. To the right, left, straight up and directly to my forehead.I was only able to get consistant ejection to the right with a fairly stiff load using 230 gr bullets. No mo gen 3s fo me.

I've got a Gen 2 20, no issues with it but I want to trade it for a Gen 4. I like my Gen 4 21!

I'd personally get a Gen 4. I held one the other day and it felt great.

I have a gen 2 19 and it's a great piece.

Well, the only 21 that fits ME is the SF, so it's the gen 3 that gets my vote.

Me too, in the 45s I have only like the SF frames.

The later gen3 and the gen4 have better chamber support if you reload a little warm (at least all the ones I have had or seen have).  This goes doubly so for the 20,my gen4 20 has almost the same support as my LW barrel.

This is what I was looking for . Chamber support . I dont reload just yet , I just shoot factory loads but I want good support . I was just trying to see if the Gen 2's had any less chamber support than the newer Gen3's or 4's .

I have seen better chamber support in a Gen4 G20 than any aftermarket barrel. Some of the worst chamber supporting I have seen has been with a Gen2 G21.
