Samson Evolution Rail / Barrel Nut ??

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone is running this rail on their rifles.  How do you like it, how is the grip.  Any issues.  Also does someone in the area have an extra AR15 barrel nut?  Really don't feel like paying shipping for a piece that i lost.  Thanks

I have the Evo on my rifle. It's a very good handguard especially for the price. It has a pretty good grip with the textured finish, not to smooth. I had to buy a barrel nut, they're cheap enough. I highly recommend this, the Rainier Arms one is a different looking alternative but made by Samson so basically the same as the Evo.

I have the Rainier Arms one, 12.37" on an 18" rifle length gas system barrel

works very well and has 2 anti-rotation tabs at the top fit and finish excellent.

some folks posted the clamp at the bottom doesn't let you open it up as far as other rails but I don't find this an issue.

I read somewhere that the issue with the clamp was fixed with the current design. No problems here either.

The only issue I've found with mine is the rail will start to slowly pull away from the receiver when I use a shooting bag. Other than that the rail is nice.  The low profile QD mount is nice too.

If you add loctite on the barrel nut and then again one the underside of the rail it seems to keep it from moving. If mine does it again I am going to drill and tape the rail into the interface piece.
