Latest Aquisition...(M&P9 w/ Streamlight TLR-1)

Thanks to the guys at Hero Gear, I came home last weekend with a brand new S&W M&P9 w/ night sights, minus both safeties. I added the TLR-1 that I picked up cheap on eBay for when the gun serves bedside duty. After selling my XD9sc, I missed having a plastic 9mm, but wanted a full size to take to the range as I have a couple other compact guns for carry. Based on all the reviews that I have read, it looks like this is going to be a keeper. I'll get a chance to shoot it tomorrow evening and will report back with my thoughts.

BTW, this TLR-1 is super bright and the aluminum housing should hold up quite well. It would definitely kill your night vision if you were looking directly into it at night. It also doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference w/ the weight on the front end and the quick release attachment will be handy for quick removal for range trips.

Is there a M&P model that anyone would recommend for concealed carry?

I carry the fullsize M&P9 without any problems.

I agree with EO. The full-size 9mm isn't much bigger than my Glock 19 and carries more rounds. The full-size 40SW is the same size but you lose a few rounds with the larger caliber.

Their new 45 Compact looks neat, but I've gotten past the idea that lower round count just to have .45ACP in the pipe is a good trade. I want more rounds, not less.

I just got back from the range where I put 200 down the pipe. 150 brass cased and 50 aluminum cased Blazer and it shot everything flawlessly. Oh man, this thing is SWEET! It just feels so much better in my hand than the XD did (although thats comparing compact apples to full-size oranges), but regardless I think S&W has a winner here.

I was at the range with Brandon. Great shooter would love to pick me up one when I can get the extra money.
