The Doctor Is Out

Recommended Posts

I'm assuming you are a physician? But it doesn't matter. :D

It's not the commercial payer's(insurance companies) responsibility to be more concerned with patient health. It's their

job to make a profit. One's health is up to the individual, not a third party. Insurance should never be a substitute for

one's own choices, just be a payer, and, if it determines that one's choices cannot be dealt with, it usually changes

the coverage for actuarial reasons. That may be oversimplifying things, but it remains a fact.

Nope, No MD here, I'm just a geek that's in data administration and compliance but I do get a spiffy pager to carry around when I'm on call.  :yuck:

I wonder how long it will be before HHS Secretary Sebelius throws a wrench into that process.

Exactly my question.  My wife and I have been waiting for an Obama executive order linking her DEA number/License  renewal to wether or not we take all forms of government assistance programs.  I take Medicare at my clinic but not Medicade because we would lose money on just about every patient that came in .  I fully expect as more drs. drop government programs for them to make it a requirement to accept them or your DEA # or Medical license will be revoked.

We need a law to force Senators and congress to accept the same level or care.  They are NOT above the law.  People forget they are "working" for US.

however they are never held accountable for anything.

I know my insurance went up and my coverage went down this year and it has every year since they have been talking about Obamacare.  I saw before it passed changes and I knew the insurance companies where preparing ahead of time.
