BRITS SHOCKED AT EASY AVAILABILITY OF KNIVES

Recommended Posts

From the article flashlightdave posted above: They argued many assaults are committed impulsively, prompted by alcohol and drugs, and a kitchen knife often makes an all too available weapon.

Why not ban the agents they are blaming ... "alcohol and drugs"?  Since they cause all the evil supposedly?

Perhaps England will realize that people can make a knife, a club, or any other means of killing or injuring people. I vote that the English parliament should out law the human hand!

Now that Margaret Thatcher is dead, who will take custody of the last pair balls in England?

In the UK they are bollox.

The Iron Ladies bolox should be put on display in the Tower of London with the Crown Jewels. Their rarity, and the fact that none of her countrymen know how to use them, makes them even more valuable.

When I lived in England (75-82) firearms were strictly controlled but not outright banned.  One could "own" a firearm, but the rules for secure storage were very stringent.  For the most part, rifles and  pistols were only kept at Shooting clubs and had to be used there.  Even then though, one had to have a license to even own it.  Shotguns were also licenced, but at that time, one could keep it at home.  I understand that now they cant even do that.  This is what some would like to bring here.  It starts with small steps and before you even know it, they are talking about banning knives...

Word has it that hammers, cricket bats, sticks, and other instruments of "bludgeoning violence" are reading accessible in the UK as well. The horror.

Ban them! ban them all !

I was a cop (armed) there, and I remember my first interaction with an Armored car money escort in the 70's.  The dudes were wearing  security uniforms, and crash helmets!  I asked the dude why the helmets, and he told me that at that time, most of their robberies of the trucks were done  by whacking the escorts with cricket bats, lol.

I've never been to the Brit side of life and don't plan on it... Would be interested to see what shops sell knives and guns there... they would croke if they came to Tennessee and saw how we do business...and i bet they'd want to move and buy buy buy
