Well mine's now on number 3.

Miraculously, it still works. I just have to use it on cloudy days now. The rear sensor was shot with my SR45. Today the G17 just made sure to finish of that back panel.

I think I was a little too worried about how close to the sensors I could get. Maybe next time I'll shoot a little higher.

Be leery of a Chrony I ever have for sale in the Classifieds.

Here is the tip to keep all chronographs alive.

Take a piece of tape and put at the top of the two uprights. Mark a dot directly in the middle. Then aim at the dot.

I suspect most people who shoot their chronographs are also trying to shoot groups. Me, I only shoot to get the FPS after I find an accurate load. There is no need to know the FPS of a inaccurate load.

If you are worried about exceeding a certain FPS because of pressures then look at the cases. They will tell you more about what is safe than a chronograph can. I can load 223 ammo that is 1,000 fps under any factory load that would destroy a gun. I can also load ammo that is 300fps above the factory load without showing signs of pressure.

The rods have been shot 4 times and the panel once now I tell everyone that wants to use it if they shoot it they pay for it

After all that abuse, can you depend on it to be accurate?

That's what I'm worried about too at this point. The rear sensor can move back and forth a little bit now. The nice thing about Chrony is you can order just the case with the sensors from them as long as you haven't shot the brain.

I've only managed to clip the rods on my pro chrono 2-3 times - all with the snubby, go figure.

And nothing broken, only bent the rods.
