Which of the big retailers charges the least for ammo and which one is always higher.  Here in Knoxville Gander Mtn always seems to be significantly higher than Academy Sports and Wal-Mart.

It's not easy to beat Wal-Mart. Academy Sports + Outdoors is a close second. Bass Pro is often pretty close to Wal-Mart and Academy. No Gander Mtn. here in Nashville. Even if there was, I wouldn't go there. Edited by TripleDigitRide

I used to buy bulk in 22lr 223 and 9mm at cabelas prior to the new year. they often ran sales on AE and PMC + no tax and free shipping. now ive been keeping an eye on basspro more often. Walmart whenever im in town.

I was in Knoxville at Christmas, Gander Mountain had plenty of ammo, at prices high by today's inflated standards. And they did not even have 16 gauge shells to redeem themselves.

I went to the Knox GM yesterday just to look at their ammo prices again.  They had a fair amount of the defensive .40 and .45 ammo at significantly higher prices than Academy Sports or Wal-Mart but at least GM had them while the other two didn't.  So f one is desperate GM is an option, I'm not desperate/
