Shot fired while man cleaning gun

Recommended Posts

Makes it hard sometimes to keep defending some people. If you can't figure out your gun is loaded before cleaning it, you probably don't need a gun.  He was probably wiping the outside down and not actually cleaning it, but still, how much effort does it take to clear it before wiping it down. I don't even know why I am surprised anymore.

After reading more posts, I agree, "cleaning" was probably easier than explaining he was playing Duck Hunt with it.

I can understand no charges being fired if the round never exited his own apartment but when the round actually goes into another apartment; it seems to me that some sort of charge would be appropriate, HCP or not...maybe even a temporary suspension of his HCP.

Hell, they pull HCPs with no adjudication just based on what people sometimes say without discharging a round at all.  ;)

I cannot imagine this.  You cannot clean a loaded gun...  that is just stupid.  You hear about these people but I can't believe anyone believes that they were cleaning a loaded gun.  Someone was just not being safe...and doesn't need a HCP.
