Price skimming at it's finest.  Put it out there on an anonymous website for a ridiculous price and if someone bites, you win.  If they don't you probably have the same stuff for sale on two other websites.

It's a sad day in America when I can load center fire pistol ammo for less then what a box of 50 rounds of 22lr costs. Figured it'd cost $16.70/50 to load 9x18mm Mak with high quality Hornady 95gr XTP's and that's having to buy brass. Once the brass costs are factored out it'll be around $14.25/50 and even cheaper if Berry's will start crankin' out their .364" plated bullets to load with.
This is why everyone needs to get a 22cal air rifle and tell the folks that make 22lr to keep the stuff. Pellets are way cheaper then 22lr ammo and out to 50 yards in an accurate air rifle will kill small game just as well and do it quieter to boot.

Yeah, interesting how the price went from about $200 to $100 and now $50-- from earlier today until now.

 

Big red flag tells me they are scammers-- with no contact info. Caveat Emptor.

I thought some of you would get a kick out of it.

 

Now I wish I had got a screen shot of that place yesterday, there is no .22 currently listed.  Somehow I don't think he sold out at the price he had on there.

I checked the site ... $29.99 for a 555 round of Winchester .22 LR seems pretty reasonable to me?!? Am I missing something?

No  you didn't. Just check Armslist and you'll find it marked up even higher with a short description about how the individual just had some extra ammo laying around that he doesn't need, but is only trying to help YOU out :)
