My wife and I are thinking about buying this gun, to upgrade her current carry gun (Bersa .380.)

She has shot this model before, but it was a .40, and we both agreed that it was un-controlable. I couldn't shoot good with it. The recoil was way to snappy.

So we are thinking that a 9mm, in the same model would be much better. Out of all the guns she "tried on" she fell in love with this one. She held, a S&W Sigma, a S&W M&P, Keltecs, Khars, Rugers, CZs, Sigs, Glocks, and this is the one she liked.

My question is.....Since we can not find anyone who owns one of these (so that she can test fire it), would it be hard to sell one of these if I were to buy it new, and after a few rounds she hated it. For a $360 (out the door price) gun, I don't want to have to eat 1/3 third of it just to sell it.

Any thoughts?

I'd stick with the Bersa.

Well, If you're ever in Knoxville... be happy to let you shoot mine.

The PT111 is nice little gun. I love mine. Ammo is cheaper. Feels good in my hands. Conceals well. External safety. Kick is not bad. Easy to field strip & clean.

Does take a little to get use to the longer trigger pull of a DA. I didn't know why I was shooting low and left until I realized it was the way I was pulling on the trigger... so, some practice will be the first order of things after getting it. Guess that would be true of any new toy!

I honestly don't think it will be difficult for you to sell if she really doesn't like it. Actually... at a lower initial cost... there are more people that can afford to take it off your hands!

As a gun dealer, I hear this comparison all the time.

In my opinion, the Bersa is the better weapon of the two.... but there is nothing wrong with the Taurus. I personally like the 24/7 pro compact 9mm MUCH better than the 111. The grip is night and day better feel for my tastes and the gun is identical in size.

I'm not sure about the Taurus but the Bersa is a solid gun and would be hard to get rid of. Where do you shop for your guns in Memphis? I hate to go to Guns and Robbery on Summer. I've had very rude service almost every time I've been there and refuse to buy from them unless I have to.

My sister-in-law down in Florida has a 111 and she loves it. Great little gun, accurate and not to expensive. A little uncomfortable for me because I have bigger hands. Not sure what the resale value is but I think your wife will like it. If she's anything like my wife she will like it because it is "pretty".....

...Easy to field strip & clean.

I had a PT111 Millennium and liked shooting it very much, but it wasn't a "pro" model I don't think. The one I had was easy to strip and clean but the absolute devil to put back together.
