Wax Shells

Do that have shot in them or just wax?

I melt the was with shot then dip both into a hull. When they cool it shoots like a slug but explodes ones it hits something. I shot some at cardboard boxes. On the entrance it was a small hole and 12" later it was a 4" hole.

I am so going to have to do this.  I wonder if I use a scented candle will it make my shotgun smell good...  You better clean up that wax before your wife cuts your neck.  LOL

Yes it does :)

My wife keeps all her old scented candles and I use them. Nothing stranger than smelling something nice floating down the firing range line. Next time I do it I am going to mix imitation bacon flavor in with the wax.

Can you cycle these through a pump with the wax exposed like that? I have been thinking you needed a crimper to close the end of the shell.

They cycle in mine like that.

The bacon boolit, I like this.

Thank you. I am really wanting to do this. I just don't want to screw up my shotgun.

But the site dont list boolit lube, just air smell good stuff.

I figure a few drops in a jar of Alox should be plenty. :)

I don't crimp and I run them in a semi auto. In a pump it would be less problematic.

I don't crimp my slugs in either because I cut the tops out of the shells. I kind of bend the open end in so the slugs doesn't just fall out. I also shoot 1.25 ounce round balls as well using the same method. I would like to find some data for two of those 1.25 ouce slugs in a single shell. I don't care if they only go 700 fps they would be brutal on anything you might hit.

I guess it would be a ad idea to just load two and see what happens??

I'm glad to hear they cycle in a pump, because that's what I have. I will try to get some pics of the effects.  I used regular candles and didn't even think about the scented ones!

Don't leave that thing loaded up in a hot trunk in the Summer time .

Also be careful if you heat your barrel up too much and leave one in the chamber while shooting.  Skip to 1:20 to see his discussion on what happened.

Yeah probably. It would probably turn the gun into a hand grenade pretty quickly.

There was a factory load that had two one ounce slugs but there is no load data out there to duplicate it.

I made these with left over wild berry scented candle wax.  This is going to be cool.
