Tower does something that scares me to death. It's not the heights. I love standing on the edge of a precipice looking down a quarter mile. What scares me is the framework that is supposed to be holding me up.

Stone - yes. Ephemeral metal - no.

Edge of a cliff - yes. Extension ladder beyond ten feet - no.

I wonder since Tower only stands like two foot tall if that makes the heights seem higher to him then regular folks

My last job I climed towers to fix the lights. I got used to it really quick, but hated the stick on top because is swing to much in the wind.

Oh come on, it's attached to dry land, it can't move that much. :hiding:

Which leads me into a story. My grandfather was an electrician's mate in the Navy during WWII. He served aboard a fleet tug in the Pacific, and part of his war experience was getting caught in Halsey's typhoon. In the midst of said typhoon he was tasked with climbing the mast and replacing some light bulb up there.

So he got all the way up to the top without yielding to the temptation to look down... but finally it was too much. So he looked down, and saw nothing but water. He watched, spellbound, as the ship swung beneath him and off in the other direction, and there he was staring at nothing but water again.

He didn't look down any more after that. :tinfoil:

I thought it was a great show. I really enjoyed learning more about what our resident Tower Dog does.

That is if he really does the same thing as what they showed. I only caught the Cell Tower part but I am sure repairing TVA lines and such is similar.

I am absolutely freaked out by heights. Some of the camera shots from the tower tops made my palms sweat.
