Henry Rifle: Thinking about buying one. A good purchase?

From the Hi-Point entry in Wikipedia.com:

Some people are wary of Hi-Points because of the use of zinc alloy (Zamak-3) castings in much of their construction. However, parts made from Zamak-3 in Hi-Point guns, (receiver and bolt/slide), are low-stress components that do not require the strength of steel. Higher stress components in Hi-Points, like the barrel, chamber, breech and other small parts, are made of steel.

And Hi-Points are +P rated.  I believe that carrier I mentioned in my earlier post is Zamak-3.  All it has to do is lift the cartridge to the breech and it's job is done.  If you want to pay extra for Marlin steel, go ahead.  But I doubt you'll find better results downrange for the money--or exceptional customer service like Henry Manufacturing.

Gentlemen thanks for all the comment and opinions. As always your wealth of experience and information has been very helpful. I think I will pick up the 22lr this coming weekend. I believe it will make a fine addition to my collection. Will post a range report when I put a few rounds downrange. Thanks again and may everyone have a blessed Easter.
