Yeah, its sad but so far I've only got a few enblocs full of old M2 ball and the new manufacture PPU (supposedly FOR the garand specifically).  Hope to pick up some surplus from the CMP after the turn of the year once we get past our first of the year big bills, etc.

FedEx delivered mine today! HRA Service Grade (muzzle 1+, Throat 2). I asked for USGI wood if possible, and it appears original (or at least used). :) I'll post up some pics later when I can Edited November 18, 2013 by Batman

I received my "DBU" last Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. I'm hoping that turn around time is getting shorter even though they told me to expect 60 to 90 days.

Still no additional movement on mine.  Order is still open and shipping TBD.  No hard case added yet and no serial information added to order.  Was hoping it would show up in time for Christmas but that is starting to look like it won't happen.

Any specifics i should look for or 'to-do's' once I open it?  I've heard some come covered in cosmolene or something like that.

The best thing that the CMP sends (other than the rifle) is a little manual called "Read This First."

 

It does a great job of how to check out your Garand and where and how to clean and lube it before firing it for the first time.

 

Also...., Garands like grease.  Tetra grease that you can get at Walmart works just fine.
