A couple of things

1.  I am still getting a small sliver, or ribbon of lead at the base of of 230gr RN reloads.  I have belled the mouth out to 0,454-0.455 and the bullet 'sets' easily in this.  I am careful to set the bullet straight as it enters the seating die. (Redding)  In fact the case rubs, the die, for the lack of a better description as it enters the die.  OAL is set for 1.255  Should I be concerned?  They do go easily into case checker and the taper crimp is set at 0.468. Using the Lee FCD.

2.  How often do you clean your dies, and with what.

i wouldn't be concerned with the sliver of lead. I've seen it many times with cast bullets. I clean my dies with brake cleaner and wipe dry. Oil some if you want.
