Holy Moly... How much 5.45 ammo was freggin made?

I've been buying this stuff in spam cans since the 90's. How much more surplus can there really be? .19 cents a round right now in this crisis... not too bad...

Thankfully the Russians have never been known for industrial efficiency.

I mean seriously... I also think people over react to the "corrosive" thing too. I always cleaned my guns well after using any of that old stuff and no issues ever. It's not like its a watergun and we are shooting battery acid through it. Millions of round of Garands, M1 Carbines, etc fired tons and tons of rounds of corrosive US stuff...

US made M1 Carbine ammo was never corrosive.  ;)

 

 

Once the Russians set their minds to making something they just don't stop. They're probably making billions of rounds a year since it's still in active service.

The Russians really don't have that many different calibers so they just crank them out. They're also Russians which should answer all questions in regards to numbers of items produced.
