Sons of Guns and other TV shows

After watching the latest commercial for the upcoming season I have decided that these shows may be part of the problem with the sheeple thinking that we are all walking around with guns on our hip that are loaded with exploding ammunition. We know whats going on but the average person that is out there watching these shows and saying we need restrictions, don't realize that the explosions are mostly due to the tannerite that is being used. These guys build a one of a kind gun for their customer and then go blow up some target with it. This leaves the wrong image in peoples minds about what we are carring for our personal protection.

That's my :2cents: . What's your opinion?

I agree that the "sheeple" and the non-initiated into the firearms world certainly get a cockeyed view of the reality of a gun. I find, as you seem to, that the fantasy element gotten from these shows is just a little far-fetched.

But to the average guy on the street looking at his first experience with a firearm...I would't recommend it either.

part of the influence maybe...part of the problem no.  The problem is lack of information/education on the "sheeple"'s part.  There is no reason these people should not be allowed to make a show about what they are doing, hell honey boo boo is allowed.  I think that if you watch the show subjectively, you understand these firearms are not made for the "common" gun owner.

But it does add fuel to the ignorent fire, no doubt.

I have wondered about this too.  But I would advise against referring to them as "Sheeple" in mixed company.  It has the same effect as calling The President (either current or former) a "Nazi" or "Hitler."  People just tune you out when go down that road.

I'm not saying you do, so please don't misunderstand...just a cautionary note.

I think the latest term is "low information voter". Seems to describe a large part of the electorate these days. This may be a last ditch effort on my part to think that many people are not a stupid as their votes seem to indicate. I guess I am clinging to the hope that if many people really paid attention they would vote differently. I can see where these shows could influence the uniformed that all AR’s are automatic weapons and that there are lots of automatic handguns out there (as I have heard them called recently)

I wouldn't worry about it. Most of the populace is watching Honey Doo Doo or the View.
