Best Burger in Tennessee

So I just finished reading this story: http://travel.yahoo.com/p-interests-23233092;_ylc=X3oDMTFyazc5MG8yBF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEX3MDMjcxOTQ4MQRzZWMDZnAtdG9kYXltb2QEc2xrA2J1cmdlcnMtMjAwOC03LTE1

about ruining a perfectly good piece a meat and charging way too much for it. Got me thinking.

What is the best burger in Tennessee?

I'll start by breaking it down by region (ET, MT, WT). These are my favorites:

1) ET: Vic & Bill's in Knox-Vegas. Many like Litton's.

2) MT: Fat Mo's in Nash-Vegas

3) WT: Huey's or Topp's (It's a tie for me) in Memphis

Chain joints don't count!

Who else has the good burgers!

my favorite are the burgers at House Mountain Market out on Washington Pike in Corryton. You get a cheeseburger and fries for about 4 bucks. It is ground fresh on premise. Now this is not a 1/2lb big old 12 dollar burger but I cannot think of anyplace that has better burgers.

+1 on Huey's having the best burger in Memphis.

As far as the state, I think the best burger I've had in a while was in Kenton (home of the white squirrels) at a place called Scott's.

I'll have to try Litton's.

East TN - The Apex in Johnson City has a good little burger.

Before anyone says it, i know it says best burger in Tn. But the best burger is about ten miles over the Ky line in Tompkinsville. It's a place that's called Dovies. They fix the burgers out front so you can watch them. All hand patted, All women cooks that still have to wear skirts and hair nets.

It's like something out of the 1950s. And if your a health nut you don't want to eat one of their burgers. By the time you get in your car the bag is covered in grease.

As for Tn. there's a barbque close by that sells decent burgers, but if it wasn't close i wouldn't drive for them.

Yes . . . Rotier's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:P

For those of you who don't know, Rotier's is rumored to have inspired Jimmy Buffet's Cheeseburger in Paradise song. There is a ton of Buffet memorabilia in there and apparently he stops by whenever he is in town. BTW, their milkshakes are killer, although they are not on the menu (at least they didn't used to be).

Dang, I sure could go for a Grilled Cheeseburger right about now! Oh, and some onion rings and a chocolate milkshake... :screwy:

Fat Mo's is far from the best in town. In fact I would say they are one of the worst in Nashville. Rotier's is certainly 100% better than the flat cardboard tasting burgers at fat Mo's.

I forgot the name of the place but there is a little gas station and diner just up near the Center Hill Dam area. We stop in there for lunch when we make the Center Hill dam run on the motorcycles. Really good burger and cheap as well.

I make a mean cheeseburger.

Buster's in the Boro is crap. I do not know how they get voted the best all the time. Long wait, poor service, and a mediocre grill top (flattop) burger. I tried them several times since everyone claimed them to be the best but every time I was disappointed.

Yes, in additon to Uncle Sam's that has been mentioned by Canyn and myself, Huey's and Topps' BBQ has outstanding burgers. They are a little different, especially the Topp's but equally as good in my book.

I'll have to get the burger at Topp's sometime, thanks for the tip.

They are just those greasy fried burgers....yummy.
