Indeed. All the staff does a great job. I don't see the the a-holiness here I see on other forums. I think being a local thing helps with that. It's different when your talking to some know-it-all jackass across the country who probably doesn't even own a gun then it is when it is someone you might actually wind up becoming shooting buddies with.

As a general rule, y'all make our job pretty easy.  The members don't put up with a lot of junk around here, and thus it's pretty self-policing.  Most reported posts we get are generally in the line of, "person x is out of line.  members seem to be taking him to task." 

 

We've got a lot of voices that we'd love to bring to the front, as we have members with true expertise in different areas.  Even those guys really enjoy learning, though.  We really try to avoid the "holier than thou" attitude that is pervasive some places. 

 

Community is an interesting thing - whether online or in person.  It's rare to be a part of a really good one, and when you are you always kind of hope that no one goes and screws it up.

Been a member of several different forums over the years.  This is one of my favorites and currently 1 of only 2 that I frequent, the other is a very small community with only about 50 members and we all know each other off of the web and did before our forum was created.

I searched for a good gun forum for quite awhile. I actually joined up while on my last vacation to Tn before moving here. Really glad I did, I've had the privledge to meet a few of you guys face to face and every time I've come away feeling like I just spent time with a person of quality. I've got no need for any other forum.

I enjoy the conversations that I have with my fellow TGO'ers, I don't always agree with some of the folks on here but those disagreements have always been civil, unlike some other forums where folks can & do take disagreements personally.
