New guy in West Knox.

Signed up a few days ago and been browsing the forums and decided it was time to introduce myself.

 

I grew up in East Tennessee and I've been shooting firearms all my life, everything from muzzle-loaders to semi-autos. My dad was a Vietnam veteran and an avid hunter, so we had plenty of guns in the house and shooting and hunting was a big part of my life growing up. When I went off to college (MTSU) I became more interested in cars/girls/career and didn't really shoot much for several years. Now that I'm married and in my 30s, and especially since moving back to East TN, firearms have become a big part of my life again. I'd say it's my biggest hobby, but it's really more than a hobby.

 

I own a few handguns, and have my carry permit, but have never considered them as fun as shooting rifles. I'm much more interested in accurately reaching out and touching something at a distance that is measured in hundreds of yards. Been working lately on an old Remington 700 in .22-250 that my dad left me, with a 15x J Unertl scope. I also like to see how accurate I can be with my ARs and my 10/22s with iron sights.

 

I'm a member at Oak Ridge Sportsmen's Association (ORSA). Also a member of the NRA, GOA, SAF and TFA.
