'McCain emerges as key senator in expanding background checks'

Who would have thought mmm?

"Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has emerged as a key player if Senate Democrats are to have any chance of passing legislation to expand background checks for private sales of firearms.

McCain and Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Dean Heller (R-Nev.) are at the top of a list of Republicans considered most likely to sign on to legislation expanding background checks after talks with Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) stalled earlier this month."

...

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has announced he will include background-checks legislation in a gun-violence package scheduled for the Senate floor in April, even though it’s uncertain whether it could gather the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster."

This isn't surprising at all. McCain is worthless and should be the poster-child for term limits. He needs to go ahead and take the "R" from in front of his name. I respect his war service greatly but at this point in his life he's no better than Harry Reid, Lindsay Graham or any of the other power-hungry dinosaurs in Washington who need to be put out to pasture.

they all just ought to quit the facade that there is any difference between the two main parties.

Yep, couldnt agree more. I cant speak for the majority of voting America but anyone I know has it figured out. Then again, does the majority of voting America even know what they are voting for besides a donkey and elephant?

Can anyone figure out why AZ citizens can elect state reps and a gov that pushed through constitutional carry, but keep electing an idiot that has thrown them under the bus more times than not? I understand here in TN why we do it, but they seem to be smarter than most of our republican voters.

You might wanna check the votes a little closer. Who do you think is keeping the all out bans away from our door? McCain is a douchebag... always was.

It is all a freaking game.   King Geo II would have signed a gun ban.   The only reason anyone is against it now sure is not because it is the correct way to vote according to our constitution.  They are ALL self serving and only worried about being re-elected.

Just look at the lack of a budget we have.   None of them care.  This gun rights argument is nothing but smoke and mirrors to cover what really is screwed up with his country.

I about guarantee the Dem's do not care about gun control any more than the Republicans.

Thankfully Sens. Paul, Cruz, and Lee are coming to rescue.  Maybe, just maybe they can save the GOP from themselves.

and maybe them guys ought to go start their own party.  I don't want the GOP saved from themselves.

it is time to start over.  Will it happen?  not just yet.

I am just waiting for McLame to make a speech by starting with, "My friends."  Everytime he uses that you know he is either bull$hitting you or about to screw you over.

Hell, he said he would during the debates before the second election, said he supported extension of the AWB. Also said he was for background checks for all firearm transactions, specifically mentioning private sales at gunshows.

Places like "The Hill" and "Politico" love stories like this. They are barely more credible than Daily Kos, but so many

keep reading the smut. Porn for politicians. Pay little to no attention and we will all feel better in the morning. :D

But, yes, John McCain is on my short list for dog catcher in his locale. If he will only leave the Senate.

After all, activists can hardly find two Senators with bigger vendettas against the liberty movement than Senator Chuck Schumer and Senator John McCain.

Senator McCain, along with his buddy Lindsey Graham, has very publicly denounced the liberty movement.

As I'm sure you remember, instead of standing with Senator Rand Paul during his historic filibuster, John McCain and Lindsey Graham were having dinner with President Obama.

And the next day, they lashed out against Rand, calling his filibuster "ridiculous."

They've clearly shown they believe we're not welcome in THEIR party.
