Home built AK

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to parkerizing one of the AKs I built. It has the wrong lower handguard on it, the forward grip needs to be reversed to allow the stock to fold all the way. Those are aladin stickers on the HG, they were on it when I got the parts kits. Still have the other to parkerize and 1 more kit to build. Thinking about trying 6.5 Grendel with the other kit, but I dont have any 5.45 mags so that will wait til I can get some without having to overpay.

I am in the middle of redoing my early builds . Originally I did them as screw builds and now have the tools to do rivet builds and bend nicer flats . Each one I did got a little better so now that kits are out of sight , I am doing the first ones over.

There is some pride in making one from a kit . It is amazing as to how many variations there are and how many parts will and will not mix. I test fired my first rebuild yesterday , A Polish Tantal in 5.56 and on an AK 74 flat .

Looks good . Did you buy a 100% flat or do an 80% ?
