Finally Introducing Myself

Recommended Posts

Posted

Well, I joined TGO a little over 2 months ago, so I figured it's time I introduce myself.

I live in Franklin, and have shot off-and-on for many years. I used to reload, but haven't for awhile; was going to get back into it, but hard to find supplies in stock anywhere.

I have already found a lot of useful information here. For example, I used the link I found in one the the forum threads for the "reduced rate" NRA lifetime membership a couple of weeks ago.

I suppose the "Beretta" in my userid is now a bit of a misnomer, because as of this past Friday, I now own more S&W pistols than Berettas :).  I've wanted a 1911 for years, but for one reason or another, bought another gun instead.  Friday, I stopped in the Nashille Armory, and they had the exact model S&W I've been looking for in stock.  So, I'm now the proud owner of a 1911 :D.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot, a couple of weeks ago, I was in the right place at the right time, and was able to pickup a S&W 9mm Shield.  I'm not looking forward to my next Visa bill!

In addition to shooting, I hunt and fish when I get a chance, but not nearly as much as I'd like to.

I'm glad to be here, and although I don't post a lot, usually check-in and browse the forums a couple of times a day.

Glad to have you around and congrats on the new Smiths.

I know the feeling about the 1911s. I kept buying something else before I saved enough for a 1911 for a long time until the SR1911 came out. Then some jerk at the range let me shoot his Scandium E-series 1911 and now I don't like my Ruger as much as I did before.

Yep, my thoughts exactly, sir.

I have a tuned-up CZ 75 Shadow that has spoiled me rotten. I can barely stand to shoot any other SA/DA triggers now.

I seriously considered a Scandium frame; ended up with the E-Series TA model. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet; planning on getting to the range real soon.
