I have no problems heading this up. Two members have already contacted me about donating via paypal. I have a paypal buisness account along with a card hooked directly to it so I can withdraw the funds and get them to Don immediatley upon reciept instead of the wait. If you would like to donate via paypal or money order or any other means you can pm me for my paypal address and my street address. Money orders should be made out to Don unless you want me to cash them and take it to him in cash for some reason.

Thanks guys Ill try to update as he updates me

I'll give an update: Don's surjery went well yesterday and lasted almost 8 hours. Although in a great deal of pain today, Don is recovering well.The Orthopedic surgeon will be back in town on Monday and will see Don and schedule his next surgery.

 Don and Jackie has family in town taking care of all their animals. So everything is in good shape on that subject for a bit.

I will keep ya'll posted as I can. Jackie will call me tomorrow with an update.

Thanks again!

This kind of stuff takes a lot of time, so it's nice to see him moving in a positive direction so soon. My sister destroyed her elbow in a recent snowmobile accident, and it seems like Don is making more progress than she is.

Good news so far with no major setbacks. Don's biggest complaint is that his stomach was pumped full of air for the surjery on his abdomen. According to his wife, he really wants to get rid of that air/gas really bad. LOL Poor guy!

Off topic I know, but I can relate to the gas pressure. After several surgeries in the last few years; I can say that the gas pains are a real problem. They can cause really bad, ncomfortable times for several days to a week sometimes.

My continued prayers for our friend and family.

A Note from Don's wife Jackie;

Update on Don: He got a good night's rest last night after they finally got his pain under control. It has been much easier to keep his pain manageable today, naturally, after he got some rest! So far the muscle flap that was attached to his ankle is doing great! They use a Doppler unit to listen to blood flow, and we rejoice every time they listen and we hear a strong pulse!! The surgeon said the first 24 hours were the most critical ones, and we are now 48 hours out from that surgery, and all looks/sounds fabulous!

No certain day for the next surgery, which is supposed to be a combo bone fusion/add metal parts for what is missing surgery. That will get on the schedule tomorrow a.m., after the osteo surgeon gets back in town. That procedure could be as early as tomorrow, but I'm expecting it to be on Tuesday, just no way to tell. Meanwhile, I am home to get some rest and snuggle with our "kids" and let them have some exercise time.

We both feel so uplifted by the prayers, thoughts, well-wishes, and gifts we have received. Feeling so very blessed!! :)

I'll keep ya'll updated!

An update from Don's wife;

Update: Had to go back to the hospital last night after talking to him and finding out he was having an issue that was making him weak. After I got there and spoke with the nurse, we were able to get him straightened out in about an hour (thank goodness!), and Don was then able to sleep comfortably. Thankfully, his issue remained resolved, and he has eaten well today and been reasonably comfortable.

Tomorrow, the plan is to change the dressing/wrap on his injured ankle and put another type on it. That is supposed to allow him to be able to get out of bed and stop worrying so much about keeping his ankle above his knee, and that will be a huge relief for him! Then, very early Thursday morning, the plan is to put an external metal brace on his leg so that he can start thinking about coming home! Of course, all this is the plan today, and as we have learned, things often change, depending on many factors.

Again, thanks to everyone so very much for all the support! Can't wait for Don to get home and see all the love that is pouring out for us; he will feel even more blessed by the support when he can see it for himself! ♥
